The Far Right’s Fake Feminist Gambit

Republicans Keep Trying to Change the Subject

Republicans Continue to Double Down
In my misspent youth, I wrote three books (Normal Girl, The Social Climber’s Handbook, and Girl, Maladjusted) in the hopes that my parents wouldn’t make me go back to college. Eventually, I convinced a graduate program to take me, and I got an M.F.A. from Bennington College, which satisfied my parents.
Being problematic is in my genes: My grandfather (Howard Fast) was held in contempt of Congress and jailed by the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1950. He served three months in jail. The National Endowment for the Arts faced enormous criticism for giving my mom (Erica Jong) an NEA grant for her book Fear of Flying, which turned out to be much dirtier than anyone thought it would be. I am also an extremely bad driver.
I live in New York City with my many teenage children (three), one of whom is on Twitter as @Woketeenageson, and my long-suffering spouse. We have three dogs, one of whom is a rescue hairless Chinese crested puppy named Leonidas, who is almost housebroken.
